Funding was used to create an educational carnival about the total solar eclipse that occured in April of 2024. Hillsboro was voted the number 7 place in the world to view the eclipse.

Smithsonian Talk with Me Toolkits - $6,000
Received this funding through a partnership with the Family Place Libraries Network. The Hillsbro City Library was one of four libraries in the nation selected for this program, and the most rural. Assisted the Youth Services Librarian in planning and executing a new pilot literacy and technology program from the Smithsonian in partnership with Penn State University's Goodling Institute for Research into Family Literacy.

Purchased eBooks and eAudiobooks for library's digital library.

Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce - $1,000
Grant funding for Leadership Greater Hillsboro class project.

Texas Preservation Trust Fund Match Grant - $60,000 - $30,000 Grant, $30,000 Match
This funding replaced the doors on the historic Hillsboro City Library. Architexas designed the doors based on the original 1912 plans, and the teams at The Brent Hull Companies crafted and installed them. Their work replaced the circa 1970 doors and brought the historic building closer to its original character.

Texas Touring Roster Grants - 50% Funding
Annually apply for these grants to provide financial assistance for the Hillsboro City Library's Summer Reading Program. These grants cover 50% of the cost of a performer.
2025
Special Projects 75 - $75,000
The Special Projects 75 grant funding enabled the Hillsboro City Library to hire a full-time Language Coordinator to teach English and Spanish as a second language classes. Funding enhanced the library's Spanish language collection and led to the library's first El Día de los Niños early literacy celebration.
2022
Community Advancement Package Grant - $10,000
This program was actually two $5,000 grants. The first grant funded the creation of a Sphero robotics program at the Hillsboro City Library for tweens and teens. The remaining funds purchased art easels, smocks, paint, and other crafting supplies for the pre-school children.
2020
Telehealth Grant - $20,000
This program built two telehealth booths in the Hillsboro City Library during the COvID-19 Pandemic. Funding expanded the library's consumer health resources, and

Library Technology Academy Grant - $11,000
Provided in-depth technology training for two employees of the Hillsboro City Library. Funding also created a hotspot lending program, and updated the library's technology to include mobile printing.
Family Place Libraries Grant - $6,000
This grant provided funds for the Hillsboro City Library to build a Family Place Libraries early literacy program.
